Over the 2018 holidays, I got the chance to make gifs for the big ones except Christmas. I got sick and that one wasn’t in time.
In 2018, REC Solar strategy pivoted to K-12 schools and agriculture, which included more outdoor events. Starting from a regular paisley bandana pattern, I altered the design to include solar- and energy-related iconography and our logo.
I was surprised by how popular these were - one of those items that you have to hide in the office, and are the first piece of branded collateral to go at events.
I designed a project emblem for cloth tote bags, which were given away, containing with project-related collateral. The circular shape and line weights were inspired by the Cal Poly seal, and the inner design is an aerial view of the solar farm, the roads next to it, and the Seven Sisters range behind it.
Included in the tote bag was an overview of the project, featuring project stats and the press release.
These designs were replicated on physical cards, which were used for several years afterward.
Solar Tea Time was a reoccurring webinar-style Q&A about changing topics. Collateral included a formal, printed invitation sent to priority accounts/prospects, presentations, and social media posts.
I developed a solar damask, and created a look of coffee rings, green tea stains, tea pot/cup silhouettes, and illustrations.
At the time I was managing our social media; I used the Kermit tea gif as a reminder post the morning of, “You could be attending the Tea Time later today, but that’s none of my business.” Running social was fun.
This advertisement was part of a campaign to attract agricultural customers, placed in The Packer, an agriculture industry newspaper.
