Duke Energy Renewables developed Beyond the Meter with Smart Energy Decisions. The podcast is designed to bring more obscure renewable energy topics to a mainstream audience with limited industry jargon. As an avid podcast listener myself, I’m familiar with podcast artwork and makes for a recognizable podcast brand. Because this was a joint venture, and while we are known sponsors, we didn’t want this too closely associated with our branding. Because it would still need to pass through Duke Energy’s brand review, it would still need to use accepted brand elements.
I dug into the secondary palette to depart from the usual blues, teals, and greens of Duke Energy. The bright yellow reflects the cheery mood of the podcast theme song. The typography remains in the Duke Energy font family, News Gothic, using the condensed version.
